What Meralco charged
The all-in figure for August 2026 is ₱14.7833/kWh. Meralco’s advisory gives the change in the generation charge for August, up ₱0.0296/kWh, but not the absolute figure. We don’t add that delta to July’s ₱9.2504/kWh to back into an August number: our archive’s own editing rules treat that as an interpolation, not a verified figure, so we leave August’s generation charge unstated. What moved
Four things moved the bill this month, per Meralco’s advisory:
- A ₱9.5-billion AWAT refund, worth ₱0.5861/kWh spread over six months, is what pulled the all-in rate down.
- NGCP transmission charges rose ₱0.3024/kWh.
- Taxes and other charges rose ₱0.2113/kWh, which includes a ₱0.1348/kWh increase in the FIT-All (feed-in tariff allowance).
- Generation rose ₱0.0296/kWh (change only, not the absolute figure, as above).
The refund alone outweighed the other three increases combined, which is why the all-in rate fell even though generation, transmission, and taxes all rose.
