Philippine Batteries Inc manufactures Motolite batteries domestically. The base Solar Master size (listed as “4D / G51 / 150”) was priced at ₱12,905 on motolite.com when we checked in August 2026, with four other sizes (2D/F51/120, 8D/H52/200, 6SM/E41/100, 3SM/D31/N70) selectable on the same product page at their own prices. That’s nameplate battery cost only — it doesn’t include installation, wiring, a charge controller, or the second and third unit you’ll likely need, since Solar Master is lead-acid and only delivers about 50% of nameplate capacity as usable energy. The warranty path, concretely

This is where the “made locally” advantage gets real: Motolite publishes its full warranty policy on its own site rather than leaving it to a distributor’s discretion, and offers an E-Warranty system through the Motolite RES-Q app for registering and checking status. The policy states Oriental and Motolite Marketing Corporation guarantees the original owner against factory defects in materials and workmanship, with replacement by an equivalent new unit if a claim is valid.

The catch worth flagging plainly: the published warranty policy reads as written for automotive batteries. It references inspecting “the automobile or vehicle wherein the battery is supposed to be installed,” and includes this specific exclusion: “Use only this battery for automotive use. Using this for Deep Cycle Applications (e.g. Radio, TV, Fishing, etc.) will shorten the battery’s service life and void the warranty.” Solar Master is marketed as a deep-cycle solar product, which sits oddly against that clause. We could not find a Solar Master-specific warranty document that resolves this. Before paying:

• Ask explicitly whether the standard warranty policy applies to Solar Master’s solar/deep-cycle use, or whether separate terms exist, and get the answer in writing.
• Register the battery through the Motolite RES-Q e-warranty app or your dealer at time of purchase.
• Keep your proof of purchase and dealer details — the policy requires the installation to be inspectable by a dealer representative in some claim scenarios.

Why the local channel matters here specifically

Every other battery brand in this series routes through an importer or distributor, which means a claim eventually depends on that party’s continued existence and cooperation — several of the channels checked for this series had partially or fully dead web presences. Motolite’s manufacturer and warranty administrator are the same domestic corporate family with a decades-old nationwide retail network.
