Leapton Solar Review (Philippines): Japan-Headquartered TOPCon via JapanSolar Philippines

Leapton Energy Co., Ltd. is headquartered in Kobe, Japan, with manufacturing run through its subsidiary Leapton Solar (Changshu) Co., Ltd. in Jiangsu, China — the same structure a number of “Japan-branded, China-made” panel companies use. It’s a single-technology lineup as far as we could verify: N-type TOPCon.

Local availability

JapanSolar Philippines, Inc., based at 5/F, 111 Paseo de Roxas Avenue, Legaspi Village, Makati City, distributes Leapton panels. This is a real, established local distributor, not a reseller of convenience — the company also carries SMA and SOFAR inverters, publishes its own mounting system documentation for Philippine typhoon loads, and has a live “Products” page hosting an eight-page Leapton warranty document dated February 2025. A distributor hosting a brand-specific, dated warranty PDF on its own infrastructure is a stronger signal than a name appearing in a “where we sell” list — it means claims paperwork exists and is current, not just that someone once imported a pallet.

That still leaves the standard caveat for a single-distributor brand: ask JapanSolar Philippines directly how a warranty claim is actually processed — whether it’s handled locally or routed back to Leapton in Japan or China — and get that process in writing before you commit to a 25- to 30-year product.

The product warranty term specifically (materials and workmanship, as distinct from the power-output warranty) wasn’t stated on the datasheet we reviewed — ask JapanSolar Philippines to confirm it in writing, since it’s a separate clause from the 30-year linear power curve above. Coastal and humidity considerations

Leapton’s marketing material cites TÜV Nord salt-spray and ammonia-corrosion testing on its module range — the standard test protocol for coastal durability, not a Philippines-specific claim, but the right thing to ask about if you’re installing near the water.
