Sunsynk Inverter Review (Philippines): ECCO Hybrids With a Certified Local Distributor

Sunsynk is one of the more established hybrid inverter brands globally — over two decades in the market, selling into more than 40 countries, and one of the most popular hybrid choices in the UK.

It matters here because EcoSolutions is its authorised Philippine distributor, the same company that distributes AIKO panels. EcoSolutions builds systems around that pairing, which means Sunsynk arrives with a named local channel rather than as a marketplace import.

The ECCO range

ECCO is the hybrid line most relevant to homes:

  • Single-phase models including 3.6kW and 7kW
  • Three-phase from 8kW up to 50kW
  • Parallel up to 16 units, so a system can grow well past a single inverter
  • Dual MPPT inputs — useful on the multi-plane roofs common here, letting two arrays at different orientations run independently
  • Weatherproof construction
  • Built-in generator input, which matters more in the Philippines than in most markets given how many homes already run a genset
  • Programmable time-of-use scheduling

As a worked example, the 3.6kW ECCO is rated at 3,600 W with maximum DC input of 7,000 W across its dual MPPTs.

The generator input deserves a note. If you currently run a generator through brownouts, a hybrid inverter that accepts genset input lets the two coexist rather than forcing an either/or.

Warranty

5 years standard, extending to 10 if you add a Sunsynk battery — but the extension must be done within 3 months of the original installation.

That condition is the thing to catch. If you are buying the inverter now and planning storage “later”, later needs to mean within three months or you keep the 5-year term. Decide that before you sign, not after. Our retrofitting a battery guide covers the wider version of this problem.

Five years standard is mid-pack — Growatt is also 5 extendable to 10, and Solis offers similar. It is shorter than what Sungrow publishes as standard.

Local availability

EcoSolutions, certified distributor. The company also handles installation and solar panel cleaning, and specifies Sunsynk inverters with AIKO panels in its own builds.

That is a genuine channel, with the usual caveat for a brand at this stage: the Philippine installed base is smaller than Deye or Growatt, which most local crews have wired many times over. Ask your installer whether they have commissioned a Sunsynk before, and confirm the warranty registration process.

What it costs in the Philippines

We have no verified Philippine pricing specific to Sunsynk. It sits in the mid-range of our hybrid inverter price guide:

Inverter size Budget-mid tier Premium tier
5 kW ₱25,000-70,000 ₱75,000-120,000
6 kW ₱30,000-80,000 ₱90,000-130,000
8-10 kW ₱55,000-95,000 ₱110,000-150,000

Get an itemised quote from EcoSolutions or your installer and compare against that band. Remember the battery is the larger cost — ₱13,000-23,000 per usable kWh installed, per the battery price guide — and that adding one within three months is what protects the longer warranty.

Where it falls short

  • Smaller Philippine installed base than the dominant Chinese hybrids.
  • The 3-month battery window on the warranty extension is easy to miss.
  • Single distributor channel, which is accountable but not price-competitive.
  • 5-year standard warranty is respectable rather than leading.

Who it’s best for

Homes wanting a well-featured hybrid with a named Philippine distributor, particularly if dual MPPT suits your roof, you already run a generator, or you expect to expand the system later using the parallel capability.

If you want the brand your installer has fitted a hundred times, Deye or Growatt remain the safest defaults. Compare the field in the best solar inverter roundup.
